Youth Advisory Council
Aloha, I'm Kai. I am 13 years old and go to Mālamalama Waldorf School. I like playing basketball, music, and drawing. I love the ocean and the idea of using art to express that love.
Collaboration is a key component of the Artivist program as it fosters a collective effort towards common goals, leveraging diverse skills and perspectives. By working with individuals and organizations in distinct areas of expertise we are able to pool our strengths, leading to creative synergy and maximizing our potential.
The Youth Advisory Council is a vital part of YAH, ensuring that the voices of our young participants are heard and valued. By including youth perspectives, we empower students to take an active role in shaping the future of our programs, making them more relevant, engaging, and impactful. Their feedback helps us understand what truly resonates with young people and guides us in creating experiences that inspire and connect with them on a deeper level. Through the Council, our students become leaders and advocates, bringing their unique insights to the table and helping us build a program that grows with them and continues to address their interests, needs, and aspirations. Meet our current Council Members:

My name is Ama. I was born in Waimea and I live in Ola'a. I'm 12 years old and in 6th grade.
I go to Malamalama Waldorf school. I like to read, make art and dance hula. I dance for Hālau Hula Kauluola. I love to learn about ocean life so that I can protect the ocean. I want my art to inspire people to love and protect ocean life also.
Hi I’m Zoey, I’m 12 years old, and I go to Malamalama Waldorf School. I love art, hanging out with my friends, going to the beach with my friends and swimming and seeing all of the fish and coral. In the future, I hope to create murals with other people to create a beautiful masterpiece and hope other people will learn about the magic in art and to help protect the ocean.
